Introduction

Established in Dorchester since 1861, Grassby and Sons is now run by the fifth generation of the family, brothers Peter, Andrew and David. The high standards of craftsmanship and service are still maintained today.

The masonry works is located outside Dorchester in the village of Grimstone which is situated three miles north of Dorchester on the A37 Yeovil/Dorchester road.

A diverse range of masonry is undertaken, including memorial sculpture, letter carving, renovations, stone fire surrounds, hearths, plaques, granite worktops, marble vanity tops and small works architectural masonry.

As well as private and local trade customers, Grassby Stonemasons also supply and deliver quality memorials and various stone products to other stonemasons and monumental masonry companies throughout the UK.

Grassby Stonemasons use a wide range of natural stones and are now sole importers of Indiana limestone from the USA. This material can either be supplied in small quantities, or for large orders they can import a container load direct from the USA specifically to the customer requirements.

At the masonry works in Grimstone there is also a fireplace showroom and a large display of garden ornaments.

Grassby Stonemasons showroom displaying a range of memorial designs is located at their branch at 16 Princes St., Dorchester. They also have memorial showrooms at branches at Weymouth, Wyke Regis, Blandford, Axminster and Sidmouth.
